End of Summer Wine Tasting
We had an end of summer experience sampling the Delicato Family Wines at this month's Hanover Golf Club Wine Club event. First time tasting the Francis Coppola Prosecco Rose - it was delightful and per our wine guide, Haley, a perfect "bubbles & fried food" pairing (notes in pics). We then had the Stoneleigh of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (ugh, grapefruit city.... patience tasters! - when paired with the Salmon Crudo/Passionfruit/Coriander Crunch we all said OH!). 3rd up was a very fresh Diora La Belle Fete Rose (of Pinot Noir) - dry and fruity and really good with the Confit Duck Leg. Next was an excellent pairing of Paso Robles Coppola Cabernet Sauvignon with Prime Strip Au Poivre cooked to perfection. Finally, big WOW of the night the Three Finger Jack Rum Barreled Aged Red Blend (in a "squatty bottle") with variations of chocolate/FigJam/Mascarpone delishness.
